The images from the Newberry were from a group of color slides auctioned off on eBay.  Although I bid on them, I was outbid by a large amount.

The person who purchased them then offered them to me for twice what he paid for them, a price too steep for my budget, however if they had been from the Neshoba, my Dad's ship, I probably would have found a way.

He finally sold them to Jim Chenvert, the son of one of the Newberry's crew members, Tom Chenvert.

Jim has spent hours scanning each of the images and has graciously shared these images with us.  Of particular interest to me are the images from the Neptunus Rex Ceremony-the crossing of the Equator.
