Sept. 5, 1945

Darling Wife:

Well censorship has finally been lifted and I can seal my own letters now. What a relief.

Don't expect this to be too long a letter, as the envelope is already about full. As you can see, the map and dope is one given to the Marines aboard our ship before we hit Iwo.

We left Tokyo Bay today just after dinner and the scuttlebutt is that we are going to Guam for further orders. It is my guess that we will have to make another trip to Japan before we come back to the States. But it won't take long to unload next time as the docks are all repaired now.

Loads of Love and kisses,

Your husband,

Art
