In 1936 our family moved to a small town in northern Minnesota.  I was 10 at the time.  The son of the landlord who lived across the street had a radio repair service in their house.  I would watch him work on radios and other home appliances.  There were a lot of battery operated radios.  A B and C batteries were needed to run one radio.

As years went by, I still had radio in my mind.  When I entered the navy in WW2, I took a radio test and failed it.  When I got out I took a correspondents course in radio. I got into Amateur Radio and have had the hobby since 1952.  This has expanded into computers too.
