It was around 66 or '67, I will try to get the specific date.  We ended up winning the whole thing, (Norfolk NOB and Little Creek) but couldn't go to the Playoffs in Florida, because we went to sea.

UDT and Fleet Marines were pissed because they hadn't lost in years.  We had a number of guys including myself who all played College Football.  We were pretty good as the Marines and UDT found out.

When we played the Fleet Marines, I caught two TD passes.  On Defense, I used to bump the pass receivers coming off the line.  One Marine Captain took exception to the bump so when I went out on one pass, he punched me right in the jaw.  When he found out the bump was legal, he apologized, but it didn't do much for my sore jaw.

 They hadn't lost in 7 years, and really took it bad.  And, as you say, to lose to an APA, that was even worse.
