E. Guy Claycomb

E. Guy Claycomb, 97, Altoona, formerly of Roaring Spring, passed away Friday at home.

He was born in King, son of the late Frank and Amanda (Feather) Claycomb. He married Janet R. Raugh on Dec. 16, 1939, in Juniata. She passed away on March 31, 2003.

He is survived by a son, David G. Claycomb and wife, Constance, of Altoona; a daughter, Laurie (Claycomb) Kelly and husband, Shawn, of Pittsburgh; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Misciagna, on July 3, 2002.

Guy attended Faith Bible Church.

He retired as an electrical supervisor from Appleton Papers in 1980 after 38 years of service.

He was a 1934 graduate of Claysburg High School and served in the Citizens Conservation Corps in Somerset County. Guy served in the U.S. Navy as a Radarman 2nd Class aboard the USS Neshoba in the Asiatic Pacific campaigns during World War II.

He enjoyed boating on Raystown Lake and hunting until he was 89.
