Jesse Kyle Moss: 1925-2005

Jesse Kyle Moss, 79, of Amarillo died Wednesday, April 20, 2005.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. F.M. Byford, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery with military rites by the Navy Honor Guard. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street.

Mr. Moss was born Dec. 18, 1925, in Brownfield to Thomas and Mattie Moss. Mr. Moss was a World War II veteran, who served on the USS Neshoba and saw combat in Okinawa. He enlisted in the Navy in December 1943 and was honorably discharged in December 1947.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Gibson; five brothers, W.T. "Lefty" Moss, David Moss, Eldon Moss, T.P. "Doc" Moss and Billy Ray Moss; and two sisters, Frances Mount and Iris Bailey.

Survivors include five children, David Moss and Tim Moss, both of Amarillo, Rebecca Moss of Dallas, Lisa Naranjo of Austin and Sam Moss of San Antonio; a brother, T.W. Moss Jr. of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
