1954 the USS Polaris AF 11 used this harbor when replenishing the 7th Fleet during those trying mid 1950 years in the South China Sea's.
This photo was of the enlisted men's swimming beach, located just west of Olongapo. 

With almost daily rain storms overhead, actually quite refreshing, sure kept the ship clean.

 Sharks and other fish was caught from the fantail. Sharpened meat hooks and liver was the best bait, at the end of a heaving line. One or more sailors kept themselves in liberty peso's, selling (trading) the fish in town.
