These pictures of the USS Currituck-AV-7 are from the postwar period.  However, they are of such exceptional quality that I had to use them to represent another class of ships in the Amphibious armada.  I am indebted to Hugh Paz who is sharing these images.


The second section of this is a collection of stories about growing up before the war.  This was before many of the safety nets for the working class were put in place.  They serve as a reminder of where we were and what changed to help make us the greatest nation...  If you forget where you came from, you might end up going back without realizing it.
